Welcome Visitors! In this new age of patient-centered care, hospital administrators and health care professionals are collaborating together to develop health care initiatives that will improve the patient experience and deliver optimal health care services to patients and their families. Traditionally, the patient’s voice in health care has been largely under represented. Patients have a voice in patient centered care. Examining the Examiner is committed to improving communication and promoting meaningful dialogue between patients and their health care providers. This community was formed to bring together patients and their families who have been touched by cancer and other serious life-threatening illnesses.
How to navigate the health care landscape is often a confusing conundrum for patients and their families. Invariably, we are all human, and we all have our shortcomings. Let’s take a look at both sides of the equation. Communication is important, and it is so important that a patient’s life may depend on it. Patients need to be more direct and assertive, and health care professionals need to slow down and listen. Hopefully, we can partner together to create meaningful dialogue between patients and their health care providers, and in the process, enrich the health care experience for both patient and provider.
